Valu Shred Processing Technology
Valu Shred's unique on site processing and recycling system includes dismantling and/or shredding in addition to reducing hardware components and software, which facilitates subsequent separation and material recovery. We ensure the correct "end life" of the product and contribute to the long-term achievement of our client's recycling objectives and the environment.

Preparation:
Electronic hardware is received as loose items on pallets or boxes. Pallets and boxes are off-loaded into our warehouse for sorting and dismantling. Large items such as photocopiers, mainframes etc. are segregated and processed separately. Machines are dismantled into components, sorted and recycled.

Shredding:
Smaller items/components are processed through our on site shredder. Product is ground up into smaller pieces in order to maximize recovery via further recycling processes. Media storage devices and information sensitive software are shredded for security.

Material separation:
Ferrous material is separated magnetically from non-ferrous materials, i.e. aluminum, copper, brass, zinc, plastic etc. allowing for recovery and recycling of the "end of life" product.

All raw materials (scrap electronic equipment) are processed, reduced and separated, in preparation for the next recycling process.

Steel is utilized by mills for the manufacture of new steel products. Any remaining shredded metals are smelted and refined off-site, thus ensuring recycling of the various materials, i.e. copper, brass, zinc, etc. Waste Plastic is used in the manufacture of insulation or recycled as a source of energy, to produce plastic lumber, and for the manufacture of noise reduction panels and the like.
